San Sebastián offers a perfect blend of world-class pintxos, scenic walks, and Basque culture. This three-day itinerary highlights the city’s best food spots alongside its stunning coastal routes.

Day 1: Pintxos crawl and Old Town

Use the day by walking through the historic Parte Vieja. Explore lively streets and enjoy a pintxos crawl.

  • Bodega Donostiarra – Classic Basque dishes and local cider

  • Donibane - Grab a seat outside and watch the world go by

  • Casa Urola – Known for grilled foie gras and refined bites

  • Bar Sport – Traditional pintxos in a bustling atmosphere

  • Casa Vergara – Creative pintxos paired with Txakoli wine

If you’re in the mood to dance, end the night at Le Bukowski Taberna, located in the lively but less touristy Gros neighborhood. Known for its local vibe and vibrant live music scene, it’s a favorite among residents looking for a relaxed yet energetic evening.

Day 2: Coastal Walk and more Pintxos

Start with the Paseo Nuevo walk around Monte Urgull, a scenic coastal path approximately 3.5km (about 1.5 to 2 hours round trip). The trail offers stunning views of the Bay of La Concha and the city skyline. Along the way, you’ll pass historical sites such as the Castillo de la Mota, a 12th-century fortress and the Sagrado Corazón statue overlooking the city. The summit features a small museum detailing San Sebastián’s history, making this walk both visually rewarding and culturally enriching.

Descend down into Old Town and reward yourself with more Pinxtos;

  • Antonio Bulebarra – Seasonal, innovative pintxos

  • La Viña – Famous for its Basque cheesecake

  • Antonio Taberna – Traditional flavors in an intimate setting, recommend the Spanish Omellete and a glass of wine

Conclude with a walk along the Zurriola Beach promenade..

Day 3: Pilgrimage Walk (San Sebastian to Passai)

Begin with fresh croissants from Arizmendi Pizzeria, enjoyed outdoors in the square. Then embark on an 8 km, approximately 1.5-hour walk along the San Sebastián Pilgrimage Route to Pasai Donibane. This coastal section of the Camino de Santiago offers a peaceful journey through lush greenery, rugged cliffs, and picturesque views.

Near the end of the trail, stop for pintxos at Fulkan and enjoy by the water, before taking a short ferry to Pasai San Pedro. Enjoy a cheeseboard and local wine at Ziaboga Jatetxea with bay views.

Return by bus to San Sebastián and spend the afternoon watching surfers at Zurriola Beach.
